In the Park Record

In the latest edition our local newspaper, the Park Record had this to say about my leadership:

“Incumbent council member and Main Street businessman Andy Beerman has proven himself a leader on local and regional issues. His diplomatic skills were especially evident as he represented the city’s interests during the emotionally charged Mountain Accord discussions. He also showed extraordinary statesmanship following the contentious 2013 mayoral race which he lost to now-mayor Jack Thomas. The hatchets were dropped and immediately replaced with a spirit of team work and mutual respect.”

Addressing Climate Change Starts Locally

The critical issue that no one is talking about

written by Andy Beerman, Park City,

“As I talk with the residents of Park City, it is clear that most of us came to this special town for the lofty mountain setting and the healthy outdoor lifestyle. The elevated landscape creates our sense of place, supplies our clean water, provides the recreation that fuels our economy and serves as the shared bedrock of our community… Read more: Link

MARC Solar

Great to attend the ribbon cutting for the MARC solar today. With 755 panels it’s the biggest solar project in Summit County and should offset 20%+ of the MARC’s energy use. Someday soon I hope to see solar panels on every house in Park City.

Park City Mobility Tour

11845128_1196827413677317_4940079805222709719_o

Fun day hosting a Park City mobility tour. We took 30+ planners, politicians, and transportation specialist around the Park City area to demonstrate our connectivity. Participants from all over Utah joined us for a classic PC adventure involving bikes, buses, e-bikes, hiking, and chairlifts (but no cars). City and County staff did an excellent job presenting our transit system, walkability, and trails. It makes me proud to share our community’s commitment to this expansive network of non-auto connections. Let’s hope it was contagious.
